St. Andrew’s in Amalfi: an ever-awaited and beloved event

On June 27, Amalfi dresses up to celebrate St. Andrew, its patron saint. A long-awaited and heartfelt event for the entire community, combining spirituality, tradition and entertainment in a unique setting.
The solemn religious celebrations in the Cathedral, a treasure chest of faith and art that holds the Apostle’s relics, the evocative procession through the streets of the historic center until it reaches the waterfront: one of the most moving moments, the famous“run,” which concludes the rite by carrying the statue of St. Andrew on its shoulders up the monumental steps of the Cathedral, amid applause and emotion.
And of course music and fireworks lighting up the sky and the sea, giving citizens and visitors an unforgettable experience.
To participate in the Feast of St. Andrew is to immerse oneself in the authentic heart of Amalfi, where faith, history and community meet and are renewed every year.

THURSDAY, JUNE 26 – Eve of the festival from Paper Mill Street.
- 8:30 a.m. Tour of the band concert through the streets of the city Basilica Cathedral
- 10 a.m. Exposition of the statue of St. Andrew and Holy Mass Basilica Cathedral Square
- 9:30 p.m. Performance by “Caffeina band”
FRIDAY, JUNE 27
- Feast of the Patronage of St. Andrew Cathedral Basilica

In order to be able to ensure a peaceful and orderly execution of the religious event, the following is ordered:
- on June 27, 2025, transit is prohibited from Via Mansone I° to Via delle Cartiere (intersection with Via Grade Lunghe) from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., and in any case exclusively for the time strictly necessary for the performance of the scheduled religious procession, except for emergency vehicles and police forces;
- on June 26, 2025, transit is prohibited from Via Mansone I° to Via Cardinale Marino del Giudice from 9 p.m. to midnight, and in any case exclusively for the time strictly necessary for the holding of the scheduled event, except for emergency vehicles and police forces;
- on June 27, 2025, transit and parking for vehicles and pedestrians is prohibited on the Dock Wharf from 06:00 am to 02:00 am and in any case until the end of the clearance operations by the company authorized to fire pyrotechnics;
- on June 27, 2025, it is forbidden for vehicles and pedestrians to park on the Dock Square from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. and in any case until the end of the reclamation operations by the company authorized to fire fire fireworks;
- on June 27, 2025, it is prohibited for vehicles and pedestrians to park on Flavio Gioia I° Square from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. and in any case until the end of the reclamation operations by the company authorized to fire fire fireworks;
- the concessions of the public establishments called Bar Francese, Bistrot Pansa, Porto Salvo, as well as those of the commercial activities present near the Supportico Marina Piccola, are totally suspended, and the concession space must be left completely cleared, on June 27, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and in any case until the end of the processional procession;
- on June 27, 2025 during the passage of the processional procession, any form of food and/or beverage serving (including in take-away mode) is prohibited on the public street affected by the event.
The Municipal Police reserves the right to allow the passage of motor vehicles during the period of closure of vehicular traffic at any breaks in the music program, according to any service needs.
