How to get to Amalfi

Amalfi will surprise with its typical charm of an ancient village nestled between sky and sea. Precisely because of the uniqueness of its location, which from the hamlets perched on the mountain then slides between the hills and the sea, it is suggested that alternatives other than autonomous transportation should be preferred in order to best enjoy your stay in this enchanting city.

The best way to reach the city is to use one of the alternative means of transportation to the car. Whether by sea or land, reaching Amalfi without your own vehicle is definitely a good idea.

By car or motorcycle

In case you need to use your own car, here are some directions below:

From the North

Scenic route: drive along the A3 highway to the Vietri sul Mare exit, then follow the SS 163 to Km 30.5. In case of traffic, take the A3 highway to the Castellammare di Stabia exit, continue via SS 366 in the direction of Agerola and then in the direction of Amalfi following the SS 163 to km 29.2. Highway A30: follow the Salerno exit and then the SS 163 until Km 30.5.

From the South

Take the A3 highway to the Vietri sul Mare exit, and then follow the SS 163 until Km 30.5.

By plane

From Naples Capodichino International Airport it will be possible to reach Amalfi by cab, private transfer or direct buses (April 1 to October 31). Another alternative may be to reach Naples central station, take a train to Salerno and then a ferry or bus to Amalfi. Through the Unico Campania app it will be possible to conveniently purchase bus and train tickets.

From Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport it will be possible to reach Amalfi by ferry (Travelmar) , bus (SITA Sud) , cab or private transfer. Busitalia Campania offers a new service connecting the Amalfi Coast Airport with downtown Salerno and vice versa.

By bus

Overland connections to and from Amalfi are served by the transportation company SITA Sud which covers all-day time slots. Tickets can also be purchased digitally via apps "Unico Campania", "Mooney App" and "Drop Ticket."
