The new year in Amalfi opens with the colors, sounds and energy of our land’s most vibrant traditions.
On Thursday, Jan. 1, the city streets will be transformed into a large open-air stage:
from 3:15 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., the Pogerolese Folk Group will enliven the historic center with a parade that will start from Cardinal Marino del Giudice Street and then explode with music and dance in the Cathedral Square.
Following this, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., it will be the turn of the group Gli Amici di Masaniello, who will bring the overwhelming rhythm of folk tradition to the alleys, stairways and beating heart of the city.
An afternoon of authentic festivity, in which Amalfi celebrates New Year’s Eve with its most sincere soul: community, shared joy and the beauty of its roots.
And the party continues into the evening: from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., the group O’ Guagliunciello will once again traverse the streets of downtown with its unmistakable energy, giving another performance full of folklore and merriment.
