Amalfi Celebrates Its Patron Saint: Saint Andrew the Apostle | Schedule of Events

The City of Amalfi is preparing to celebrate one of the most heartfelt and defining moments of its religious tradition: the Feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle.

An annual event that reaffirms the deep bond between the Amalfi community and Saint Andrew through liturgical celebrations, moments of prayer, band concerts, the traditional procession, and the spectacular fireworks display over the sea.

Below is the schedule of celebrations:

Tuesday, June 23, and Wednesday, June 24

Crypt of St. Andrew

  • 7:00 p.m. – Holy Mass and the Coronella

Thursday, June 25

Crypt of St. Andrew

  • 7:00 p.m. – Holy Mass and the Coronella
  • 8:00 p.m. – Eucharistic Adoration

Friday, June 26 – Eve of the Feast

From Via delle Cartiere

  • 8:30 a.m. – Parade featuring the “La Grande Banda del Cilento” marching band through the city streets

Cathedral Basilica

  • 10:00 a.m. – Display of the statue of Saint Andrew and Holy Mass

Piazza Municipio

  • Ore 11.00 – Matinée del concerto bandistico

From Piazza Spirito Santo

  • 6:00 p.m. – Marching band concert through the city streets

Cathedral Basilica

  • 7:00 p.m. – Pontifical First Vespers presided over by His Excellency the Most Reverend Monsignor Orazio Soricelli and the Rite of the Manna
  • 8:00 p.m. – Diocesan Prayer Vigil for Vocations

  • 9:30 p.m. – Musical evening featuring a band concert conducted by Maestro Nicola Pellegrino

  • 10:00 a.m. – Pontifical Mass celebrated by His Excellency the Most Reverend Monsignor Orazio Soricelli, with musical accompaniment by the Schola Cantorum “Cantate Domino – Aloysiane” and the Choir of the Archdiocese of Salerno – Campagna – Acerno

  • 11:00 a.m. – Matinee concert featuring a brass band conducted by Maestro Giovanni Vuolo

12:00 p.m.

  • The joyful ringing of all the church bells in the city

From Piazza Spirito Santo

  • 6:00 p.m. – Marching band concert through the city streets

  • 8:00 p.m. – Procession along the traditional route

Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, the Apostles

Traffic and Public Order Regulations for the Patron Saint’s Day Celebrations on June 26 and 27, 2026

-On June 27, 2026, traffic will be prohibited on Via Mansone I° to Via delle Cartiere (at the intersection with Via Grade Lunghe) from 7:00 p.m. to midnight, and in any case, only for the time strictly necessary for the scheduled religious procession to take place, with the exception of emergency vehicles and police;

– On June 26, 2026, traffic will be prohibited on Via Mansone I° to Via Cardinale Marino del Giudice from 9:00 p.m. to midnight, and in any case, only for the time strictly necessary for the scheduled event to take place, except for emergency vehicles and police;

-On June 27, 2026, vehicles and pedestrians are prohibited from passing through or stopping on the Darsena Pier from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. and, in any case, until the cleanup operations by the company authorized to set off the fireworks are completed;

-On June 27, 2026, vehicles and pedestrians are prohibited from stopping in the Darsena square from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and, in any case, until the cleanup operations by the company authorized to set off the fireworks are completed;

-On June 27, 2026, parking and pedestrian traffic are prohibited on Piazza Flavio Gioia Ifrom 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. and, in any case, until the cleanup operations by the company authorized to set off fireworks are completed; the concessions for the establishments known as Bar Francese, Bistrot Pansa, and Porto Salvo, as well as those for commercial activities located near the Supportico Marina Piccola, are fully suspended, and the concession area must be left completely clear,

– on June 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and in any case until the end of the procession;

-On June 27, 2026, during the procession, it is prohibited to serve food and/or beverages in any form (including takeout) on the public road affected by the event.

The Municipal Police reserve the right to allow vehicles to pass through during periods when the street is closed to traffic, in accordance with any breaks in the musical program and as required by operational needs.
