Byzantine New Year XXV Ed. – Knight for a day!

In celebration of the XXVth edition of the Byzantine New Year, Amalfi opens the doors of its glorious past to the City’s little ones, offering them an immersive experience of history, play and wonder. For one evening, boys and girls will be transported to a medieval atmosphere of knightly challenges, games of skill, capes, padded swords and toy bows. In an engaging and safe course, each participant will be able to test themselves and experience the thrill of becoming a knight or lady for a night. Making the event even more magical will be encounters with real falconers and their birds of prey: buzzards, hawks and owls will perform spectacular demonstrations, revealing the secrets of flight and the ancient art of falconry to curious little ones under the guidance of experts in historical costume. A unique opportunity to revive the greatness of the past and pass on to new generations the spirit, courage and wonder of a time that continues to inspire.
