Sunday, May 18, 2025<\/span><\/strong>, Amalfi will host the <\/span>70th edition of the Historic Regatta of the Maritime Republics.<\/span><\/strong><\/em>, among the most anticipated, iconic and heartfelt events on the Amalfi cultural calendar. A rowing challenge that sees, the four glorious maritime cities of <\/span>Amalfi, Pisa, Genoa and Venice<\/span><\/strong>, now meet no longer as rivals, but united by values of civilization, cultural identity and sports.<\/span><\/p>\n

A plunge into the past, back to its origins<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Established in 1955 to celebrate the naval exploits of the four City States that dominated the Mediterranean in the Middle Ages, the Historical Regatta over the years has mutated into a deeply felt event capable of combining culture, entertainment and popular passion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amalfi, which was its protagonist back in 1957, is now preparing to experience its 14th edition as host city. The excitement is through the roof.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Today the new <\/span>official graphic design<\/span>: <\/span>four stylized rowers in blue, representing the four republics<\/span> Seafaring, united today more than ever. An image that is both modern and symbolic, yet deeply rooted in tradition. The choice was to resume-symbolically-that of 1957, when a single rower was depicted superimposed on the flags of the competing cities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Where will they compete?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The regatta will take place in the stretch of water between the <\/span>Capo di Vettica<\/strong> and the bay of Amalfi<\/strong><\/span>, a breathtaking natural stage that will make the rowing challenge even more beautiful. The boats, totally identical in shape and size, will compete in a race that is not just a competition, but the symbol of a newfound bond.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amalfi in celebration: among exhibitions, music and culture<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

As per tradition, the Regatta will be accompanied by unmissable side events planned to make this moment of sharing and culture memorable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prominent among them is an <\/span>exhibition <\/span><\/strong>exciting and evocative <\/span>of the commemorative posters of the 70 editions of the Regatta<\/span><\/strong>, a true emotional and visual journey through the evolution-even graphically-of the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

There will be no shortage of festive moments involving the entire citizenry and visitors, transforming Amalfi into a large open-air theater.<\/span><\/p>\n

A challenge in the waves<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Today, the Maritime Republics have put aside ancient rivalries, leaving room only and exclusively for values of sharing and brotherhood.<\/span><\/p>\n

History, culture, sports and unity will feature prominently in this 70th edition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amalfi is ready. The banners will soon be displayed. Emotions are running high.<\/span><\/p>\n
