Everyone tries to be present in the Piazza Duomo to await the exit of the splendid bronze statue of the apostle Andrew from the majestic cathedral\, world-famous for its beauty. The effigy of the saint is accompanied in procession through the streets of Amalfi\, giving the faithful and visitors moments of excitement and discovery of the town’s most hidden and oldest heart. The one linked to the rites of faith and devotion to its patron. Accompanied by the faithful and the band\, the procession after crossing the town ends with the famous and spectacular run up the staircase of the cathedral dedicated to St. Andrew. Nuschese\, in fact\, has lived in Washington for more than 30 years\, where in 1992 he founded Cafe Milano\, a fine establishment in the Georgetown neighborhood frequented by U.S. presidents\, movie stars and international politicians.  \nThe interview will be held at 8:30 p.m. in the parlor at Largo Duca Piccolomini in Amalfi and will be preceded at 8 p.m. by a historical introduction by the event’s creators\, Prof. Giovanni Camelia and Prof. Giuseppe Gargano. \nSUNDAY\, SEPTEMBER 1\, 2024. The Historical Procession of the Ancient Maritime Republic will be opened by the performance of the “Sbandieratori e Musici città Regia” (Flag-wavers and Musicians of the Royal City) at 6:15 p.m. in Piazza Duomo in Amalfi.
