The evening will be enhanced by Fabio Anastasio’s DJ set and led by the voice and conducting of Francesca Faratro. There will be no shortage of tradition\, thanks to the participation of the Gruppo Folk Amalfitano ‘O Guagliunciello\, which will bring the authenticity and warmth of local culture to the square. \n\n\nh 00:00\, Amalfi \n\n\nFireworks display \n\n\nThe fireworks show is by the award-winning firm Pirotecnica Cav. Vincenzo Senatore and Sons \n\n\nh 00:30\, Amalfi – Piazza Duomo \n\n\n#NYEAMALFI – Italy’s longest New Year’s Eve. \n\n\nAfter midnight\, the square will be rekindled with new energy thanks to the overwhelming entertainment of Nicolò De Devitiis\, whose unmistakable style will accompany the audience through the long night of celebrations. Following this\, music by The Muppets will give rhythm and color to the early hours of the new year\, turning the square into a large open-air stage. The Muppets are one of Italy’s most sought-after party bands\, stars of events for brands such as Google and Red Bull and of shows in some of the most evocative locations in Europe and the Mediterranean\, bringing to the stage an explosion of energy that mixes ’70s/’80s/’90s hits\, rock\, pop and the most current dance. Nuschese\, in fact\, has lived in Washington for more than 30 years\, where in 1992 he founded Cafe Milano\, a fine establishment in the Georgetown neighborhood frequented by U.S. presidents\, movie stars and international politicians.  \nThe interview will be held at 8:30 p.m. in the parlor at Largo Duca Piccolomini in Amalfi and will be preceded at 8 p.m. by a historical introduction by the event’s creators\, Prof. Giovanni Camelia and Prof. Giuseppe Gargano. \nSUNDAY\, SEPTEMBER 1\, 2024. The Historical Procession of the Ancient Maritime Republic will be opened by the performance of the “Sbandieratori e Musici città Regia” (Flag-wavers and Musicians of the Royal City) at 6:15 p.m. in Piazza Duomo in Amalfi.
