The Feast of St. Andrew is the most beloved event for Amalfi residents and nonresidents alike. Everyone tries to be present in the Piazza Duomo to await the exit of the splendid bronze statue of the apostle Andrew from the majestic cathedral\, world-famous for its beauty. The effigy of the saint is accompanied in procession through the streets of Amalfi\, giving the faithful and visitors moments of excitement and discovery of the town’s most hidden and oldest heart. The one linked to the rites of faith and devotion to its patron. Accompanied by the faithful and the band\, the procession after crossing the town ends with the famous and spectacular run up the staircase of the cathedral dedicated to St. Andrew. The bearers\, all dressed in red\, run up the majestic run accompanied by the march of Rossini’s Moses in Egypt and cheered on by the crowd of faithful.
