SUMMARY:Celebrations in honor of St. Andrew the Apostle
DESCRIPTION:St. Andrew the Apostle is the patron saint of the City of Amalfi\, which celebrates him twice a year: on June 27 and November 30. \n\n\n\nThe Nov. 30 feast\, which follows the June 27 feast that Amalfi celebrates motu proprio\, falls on the day the Catholic Church calendar celebrates the apostle. The Feast of St. Andrew is the most beloved event for Amalfi residents and nonresidents alike. Everyone tries to be present in the Piazza Duomo to await the exit of the splendid bronze statue of the apostle Andrew from the majestic cathedral\, world-famous for its beauty. The effigy of the saint is accompanied in procession through the streets of Amalfi\, giving the faithful and visitors moments of excitement and discovery of the town’s most hidden and oldest heart.
